The Visit Greater St. Cloud Event Assistance Program is designed to help planners offset event costs while advancing the economic and community benefits of meetings, conventions, and sporting events in the Greater St. Cloud Area.

Event Assistance Guidelines

  • Priority Considerations
  • New events to the area
  • Events attracting visitors from 60+ miles away
  • Multi-day events
  • Events working directly with Visit Greater St. Cloud to coordinate venue bids and hotel room blocks
  • Application Process
  • All applications must be completed in full.
  • Include any supporting documents and an event budget outline.
  • If not submitted online, completed applications can be emailed to nikki@visitstcloud.com.
  • The application committee will review your submission and contact you within 30 days.
  • Fundable Expenses
  • Event marketing targeted to areas 60+ miles from Greater St. Cloud (print, digital, billboard, etc.)
  • Direct mail campaigns (including Visit Greater St. Cloud logo)
  • Printed pre-event promotional materials (must include Visit Greater St. Cloud logo)
  • Bid fees, rights fees, or guarantee money for events/tournaments
  • Equipment, AV, or venue rental
  • Fees for officials
  • Food & beverage for the event (excluding alcohol)
  • Direct hotel billing reimbursement (incidentals & damage fees not included)
  • Shuttle transportation for attendees
  • Non-Fundable Expenses
Expenses not directly related to promoting a non-professional sporting event are ineligible. Examples include:
  • Travel costs for applicant staff
  • Lobbying fees
  • Restaurant meals
  • Items purchased for resale
  • Prizes for participants
  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Staffing
  • Metered parking
