Pack your bags and get ready for an adventure at Hemker Park & Zoo – where they’ve won the Best of Central Minnesota Out & About Family Recreation destination for five years straight! From May to October, you can come face-to-face with giraffes, rhinos, koi, budgies, and otters. Rain or shine, we’re open and always excited to have you.

AND OUR ANIMALS ARE ONLY HALF THE FUN!……But wait, there’s more! This family-friendly park is perfect for all sorts of events – from picnics to weddings, they’ve got you covered! You can pack a lunch or grab some delicious snacks at Hungry Paw Concessions. With shaded picnic tables and a large undercover eating area, the park can accommodate groups of all sizes. Just ask for details and they can help you plan a great day at the zoo!

PLUS, DISCOVERY SAFARI TRAM TOURS!

They’ve got something special for you! Join the daily tram tour at 11:30 am, 1:30 pm, 2:30 pm, and 4:30 pm. Hop on board and glide through the park while listening to stories about these amazing animals. The tour is 25/30 minutes long and they’ve made sure it’s wheelchair accessible. You can buy tickets from any of the guest service areas. Please note that while the tour is accessible, strollers and motorized scooters cannot be accommodated. Children under 2 years old can ride for free with a paying adult.

At Hemker Park & Zoo, they are not only passionate about the animals, but also their conservation and education. They offer a range of educational programs for all ages, from field trips to summer camps to zookeeper experiences. Their knowledgeable staff is always happy to answer questions about the animals and their habitats. Don’t forget to visit the gift shop for souvenirs, toys, and educational materials.
