Howie’s Sports Bar
Located in the heart of downtown St. Cloud, Howie’s Sports Bar and Grill has been a local favorite since 1986. It was previously known as “Howie Zimmer’s 1929 Club” and the building has had several other uses in the past, including as a horse stable, restaurant supply house, and pool hall, before being transformed into the sports bar it is today.

Ippin Ramen & Izakaya
New to Waite Park in 2023, this is an upscale Japanese restaurant with a casual vibe featuring ramen, appetizers, boba tea, & more. Said to be one of the most beautifully decorated restaurants in the area, see it for yourself!

- Featured Menu Item: Char Siu Pork Bun – Hand- grilled pork belly, crisp iceberg lettuce, tany japanese mayo and a sweet eel sauce all wrapped in a soft steamed bun.
Pio’s Sangwich Shop at Manea’s Meats
First-generation owners Rolando (whose nickname was Pio) and Aleida Castellanos had a beautiful Cuban accent that stuck with them over time after they came to the United States in 1968 due to the seizing of their farm and business by the Cuban Government. Over the years as they learned the English language with their family (by listening to records in their house), certain words and phrases were a bit more difficult to pronounce (for example Sandwich). The way they chose to spell “Sangwich” at Manea’s Meats is how Rolando (Pio) and Aleida would have pronounced it themselves when speaking English.
They thought the best way to continue to honor them and their legacy is to incorporate their heritage, their names, and their unique Cuban quirks into the store when and where they can. Now the next time you hear them on the radio or are reading “Pio’s Sangwich Shop”, you’ll know the history of where the name came from and why they pronounce it the way they do! They love their history and are proud to share it with you all!

Known for their Trophy burgers since 1992, this Saloon and Eatery is a local favorite of the south side. The unassuming but fun atmosphere from the outside is accompanied by the race day feel once you enter and service that can’t be beat!

Growing up in a family that is both entrepreneurial and built on decades of fire and police service, it seems Chris Sorensen and Robin Sorensen were destined to start Firehouse Subs®. Of course they tried other things along the way to their American Dream – rock ’n’ roll, real estate, and even Christmas tree farming.
