Each day highlights a different culinary category, showcasing a variety of local restaurants. Think classic recipes passed down through generations, familiar flavors prepared with love, and those dishes Mom always made best. From pot roast and chicken pot pie to her famous apple crisp or that lasagna she makes every holiday, this category is a culinary tribute to all the amazing moms out there. It’s a taste of nostalgia, home-cooked goodness, and a perfect way to show Mom how much you appreciate her. Because let’s face it, Mom’s cooking is always the best.

 

 

 

MONDAY: Vegan/Vegetarian Vibes

Plants are having a moment, and this category proves it. Forget sad salads and rabbit food – we’re talking creative, flavorful vegan and vegetarian dishes that will make even the most dedicated carnivore reconsider their life choices. From mind-blowing veggie burgers to curries bursting with flavor, this category is a celebration of the delicious possibilities of plant-based cuisine.

 

 

 

TUESDAY: Kid-Friendly

WEDNESDAY: Uffda…Tastes Like Minnesota

This category is a love letter to the quirky and delicious food traditions of Minnesota, with a special emphasis on locally sourced ingredients. We’re celebrating the flavors of the North Star State, showcasing the bounty of our farmers, producers, and artisans. Think walleye so fresh it practically jumped on your plate (and maybe came from a local lake!), lefse made with Minnesota potatoes, and hotdish featuring locally raised beef and veggies from nearby farms. We’re talking wild rice dishes, perhaps a blueberry buckle made with berries from up north, and maybe even a craft beer brewed right here in the state. It’s the kind of food that makes you want to say “uffda” in the best way possible, and celebrate the amazing food that comes from right here in Minnesota. It’s a taste of Minnesota pride, with a focus on supporting our local community.

 

 

 

THURSDAY: Meat Lover’s Paradise

Warning: This category is not for the faint of heart. We’re talking serious meat sweats, folks. Juicy steaks, smoky ribs, burgers piled high with toppings – it’s a carnivore’s dream come true. If you consider ketchup a vegetable, this is your category.

 

 

 

FRIDAY: Fully Loaded

Go big or go home! This category is all about those over-the-top, indulgent dishes that are guaranteed to satisfy your cravings (and maybe give you a food coma). Think loaded nachos that could feed a whole crew, decadent desserts that are basically edible art, and burgers so tall you need a separate jaw just to eat them. It’s the culinary equivalent of wearing your stretchy pants.

 

 

 

SATURDAY: Owner’s Recommendations

As a parent, you’re not allowed to have a favorite child (or so they say). But as a chef or restaurant owner? All bets are off. This category gives you a peek behind the curtain, showcasing the dishes you’re most passionate about. These are the culinary creations you’ve poured your heart and soul into, the ones that make your tastebuds sing, the dishes you believe best represent your restaurant’s culinary philosophy. It’s like getting a personal recommendation from the chef, except you don’t have to awkwardly ask them at your table.
