These works began as letters to the artist’s wife, Maria, written after she passed away from cancer. In painting them, he found a way to continue speaking to her, even in her absence. Layered with words, textures, and gestures, the pieces hold the weight of grief while also tracing the persistence of love. More than memorials, they are explorations of what it means to live with loss—how memory lingers, how silence speaks, and how art can hold conversations that words alone cannot.
